Torriglione

The Cru of Torriglione forms the hill at the foot of the hamlet from which its’ name is derived.

Our parcel in Torriglione has a more compact clay soil than Rocche dell’Annunziata and is located right beneath the winery and in front of Rocche dell’Annunziata. Our vineyard curves around the hamlet, from an east-facing position to a full south exposure where we have another 0.5 hectares (1.24 acres) of Nebbiolo. In the east-facing part, we primarily grow Barbera, with a tiny parcel of Sauvignon Blanc. The slope here is very steep and is mainly compact blue Marl (clay-limestone) with 40% limestone, 35% clay and 25% sand. The soil here is so compact that the historic houses here are built directly onto the Marl, without foundations.
